The difference between gasoline engine and diesel engine is as follows:
1. The ignition method is different. Gasoline engines need a spark plug to ignite the mixture, while diesel engines ignite by compression autoignition.
2. The compression ratio is different. Gasoline engines are made of materials such as aluminum alloys and plastics. Small in size, light in weight, easy to start, stable in operation and fast in speed. The compression ratio of the diesel engine is large, and the cylinder is relatively solid and heavy because it has to withstand a large pressure. It is generally made of steel plates, iron plates and other materials.
3. Compared with the gasoline engine, the diesel engine of the diesel engine is cheap and economical, and it has no ignition system, so there are fewer failures.
4. Diesel engines are safer than gasoline engines. Compared with gasoline, diesel oil is less volatile, has a higher ignition point, and is less likely to be ignited or exploded by accident, so using a diesel engine is more stable and safer than using a gasoline engine.
5. Applicable to different means of transportation: gasoline engines are suitable for vehicles, airplanes and other means of transportation that require small size and fast speed. Diesel engines are suitable for large trucks, tractors, locomotives and ships with heavy loads.
