In the repair of diesel generators, it is often necessary to clean the oil, carbon deposits, scale and rust on the surface of the parts. Due to the different nature of various types of dirt, the methods for removing them are also different.
1. Scale removal
The cleaning of diesel generators generally adopts the chemical removal method. The chemical solution for removing scale is added to the coolant. After the engine operates for a certain period of time, the coolant is replaced. Commonly used chemical solutions for removing scale are: caustic soda solution or hydrochloric acid solution, sodium fluoride hydrochloric acid descaling agent and phosphoric acid descaling agent. Phosphoric acid descaling agent is suitable for removing scale on aluminum alloy parts.
2. Oil cleaning
If the oil deposits on the surface of diesel generator parts are thick, the oil should be scraped off first. The method of cleaning parts is generally to clean the oil stains on the surface of the parts. The commonly used cleaning fluids are alkaline cleaning fluids and synthetic detergents. When using alkaline cleaning solution for hot cleaning, heat it to 70~90℃, immerse the parts for 10~15min, then take it out, rinse it with clean water, and then dry it with compressed air.
3. Carbon deposit removal
To remove carbon deposits, a simple mechanical removal method can be used. That is, use a metal brush or scraper to remove it, but this method is not easy to remove the carbon deposits, and it is easy to damage the surface of the parts. Use chemical methods to remove carbon deposits, that is, first use a decarbonizer (chemical solution) to heat to 80~90 ° C to expand and soften the carbon deposits on the parts, and then use a brush to remove them.
