Common faults of gasoline generators
1. Can't generate electricity
(1) Wiring error Check and correct according to the wiring diagram.
(2) The excitation winding of the main generator or exciter is connected incorrectly, resulting in wrong polarity. It often occurs when the field winding is replaced by wiring errors. should be checked and corrected.
(3) The rotating silicon rectifier element is broken down and short-circuited, and both forward and reverse are turned on. Check the forward and reverse resistance of the rectifier element with a multimeter, and replace the damaged element.
(4) The main generator excitation winding is disconnected. Check and measure the excitation winding of the main generator with a multimeter, the resistance is infinite, and the excitation circuit should be connected.
(5) Serious short-circuit of each winding of main generator or exciter The short-circuit of armature winding, usually obvious overheating, and the short-circuit of excitation winding can be judged by its branch resistance value. Replace damaged windings.
2. The no-load voltage is too low
(Example: The line voltage is only about 100 volts)
(1) The excitation winding of the exciter is disconnected. Check that the exciter field winding resistance should be infinite. Replace the broken coil or switch on the coil circuit.
(2) The main generator excitation winding is seriously short-circuited. Exciter field winding current is high. The excitation winding of the main generator is seriously heated, the vibration increases, and the branch resistance of the excitation winding is much smaller than the normal value. Replace the shorted coil.
(3) The automatic voltage regulator is faulty. At the rated speed, check whether the output tributary current value of the automatic voltage regulator is equal to the factory no-load characteristic of the motor. Overhaul the automatic voltage regulator.
3. The no-load voltage is too high
(1) The automatic voltage regulator is out of control. No-load exciter field winding current is too high. Check the automatic voltage regulator.
(2) The set voltage is too high. Re-set the voltage.
